Larry Walsh Jr Presides Over Rising Unemployment

Larry Walsh Jr., who was appointed (not elected) to the position of Illinois House Representative, District 86, in May of 2012, and, was then later elected in November of 2012, now presides over ever-increasing unemployment.

In October 2012, Rep. Walsh Jr. was on W.J.O.L. Radio and stated that the January 2011 historic tax increase (passed with the help of former Rep. Jack McGuire) of 67% helped LOWER unemployment. Was he right? Find out HERE!   

Well what does the CURRENT TREND tell us now (see below)?

"The continuous drop in the nation’s unemployment rate does not reflect a true jobs recovery, but rather a decrease in the number of people actively looking for work. The labor force participation rate remained essentially unchanged at 63.3 percent, the lowest it has been since 1979." -- Illinois Policy Institute.

According to the Department of Numbers website:
"According to the BLS current population survey (CPS), the unemployment rate for Illinois fell 0.0 percentage points in March 2013 to 9.5%. The state unemployment rate was 1.9 percentage points higher than the national rate for the month. The unemployment rate in Illinois peaked in December 2009 at 11.3% and is now 1.8 percentage points lower. From a post peak low of 8.6% in December 2012, the unemployment rate has now grown by 0.9 percentage points."

Joliet Patch
In March, in Will County the rate fell to 10 percent from 10.9 percent in February. That figure is up year over year from 9.5 percent. Specific numbers for Shorewood, Channahon and Minooka were not included. -- May 9th, 2013.

Shorewood Patch
Unemployment rates in Illinois were 9.5 percent in March, a slight decrease over February and slightly higher from the same time in 2012. -- May 9th, 2013.
